Gifts That Grow

The Red Deer Symphony Orchestra Legacy Fund

The Red Deer Symphony Orchestra works with the Red Deer & District Community Foundation in developing and growing two endowment funds that benefit both of our organizations and enable us to continue serving our community.  Both funds, the Lapalme Legacy Fund (formerly the RDSO Legacy Fund) and the Canadian Arts & Heritage Sustainability Program Fund, are held by the Red Deer & District Community Foundation and invested annually to generate interest that then goes towards supporting the ongoing operation of the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra.

Making a donation to the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra Legacy Fund can be done online, through the RDSO or Community Foundation offices.  Dollars donated to our Legacy Fund are eligible to be matched through the Canadian Arts & Heritage Sustainability Program - meaning that a contribution made this way can go twice as far in supporting us.  Simply put, growing our legacy fund grows our sustainability fund.  These charitable donations are eligible for tax receipts and the associated income tax break benefits.

In the spirit of reconciliation, Red Deer Symphony Orchestra acknowledges the privilege of planning, practicing and performing on Treaty 7 land, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina and Stoney Nakoda peoples. We also serve communities across Central Alberta, which covers Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree and Saulteaux territory.
